About the Kansas Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons

The Kansas State Ophthalmological Society provides a variety of services to its members.

What does the Kansas Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons do in Kansas?

  • We provide continuing medical education programs, support and advocacy for the Eye M.D.s of Kansas.
  • We advocate for improved eye care for Kansans.
  • We work to support institutions and organizations in Kansas relating to eye care and general health care for Kansans.
  • We provide education programs for ophthalmology office staff regarding practice management issues, coding and documentation, and other topics.
  • We provide free membership and education to residents of the University of Kansas School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology.
  • We serve on the Intraprofessional Advisory Committee to work with Kansas optometrists toward responsible policies for providing treatment.
  • We testify before the Kansas Senate and Kansas House of Representatives regarding issues relating to improved vision and eye health care.
